A Blessing…
April 25th, 2008
As the winter winded down, Packs of Promise wants to thank the community for their generous support! Through your help we were able to give over 75 bags away this year.
Thank you for your support and in thinking of Packs of Promise, and know we’ll be busy working throughout 2008 to line up an even bigger push to reach more people in our community this coming winter!
Email us if you’re interested in helping or have new ideas!

January 16th, 2008
We’re already halfway through the New Year, but there’s more cold ahead…
As we work through some of our coldest months, the Packs of Promise and Concrete Conscience initiative will be on display at FilmStreams and Slowdown as well as some other locations soon to be announced! Please support our friends and make a donation today on the site which will give a new backpack filled with nescessary winter supplies to make it through the bitter cold.
Thank You!

Thanks to all those who came out to Nomad Lounge last night for the Concrete Conscience gallery opening! The event was a success and just a start of what’s to come…
If you weren’t able to come out, it’s not too late to help. Please click the “Donate” link on our page to make a $35 contribution which will provide one new backpack filled with essential winter supplies.
Remember, winter doesn’t end with the New Year…
Also, we are looking for additional locations to display photos and backpack collection stations in January and February.
If your company is interested please let us know!
What is “Packs of Promise”?
November 30th, 2007
Packs of Promise, a project initiated by some friends who were burdened by the forward development in our city, but backwards progress in dealing with the homeless. The project provides a new backpack filled with winter supplies to help those stuck on the streets in our city’s coldest winter months.
The project began in the winter of 2006 as a grassroots effort to raise the awareness of Omaha’s homeless. This year, Packs of Promise is blessed to partner with some other stellar organizations including OBI Creative, Secret Penguin, Nomad Lounge and The Reader.
What’s great is it’s so easy to get involved… $35, purchasing supplies and forwarding to a friend are all things that take less than 5 minutes to do from the site!
Do your part, pull your weight and help pull someone else up too…
We could all use a lift at times.
